The Rosa ‘Westerland’ is a true eye-catcher among climbing roses. This strong and sturdy rose is known for its colour change: the flowers open in a vivid orange shade and gradually turn into a soft salmon-pink glow. The semi-double flowers have a strong, spicy scent that fills your garden with a summery atmosphere from June through October.

With its bushy growth habit and firm, stiff branches, ‘Westerland’ reaches a height of 1.5 to 2 metres. Perfectly suited to train against a wall, pergola, or low fence. The young shoots have a striking bronze-red hue, adding extra colour and liveliness to the plant, even outside the flowering period.

‘Westerland’ is not only beautiful but also strong and easy to care for. It thrives in a spot with sun or partial shade, as long as the soil is well-drained and fertile. Annual feeding and light pruning after winter keep this climbing rose healthy and blooming abundantly.

At Belle Epoque you order roses directly from the nursery in Aalsmeer. This way you are assured of top quality and vitality, straight from our collection of unique and special garden roses.

Roses in pots

A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.

Roses with bare roots

Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.

At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.

Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
