The Rose 'Variegata di Bologna' is a historic Bourbon rose that immediately catches the eye with its special play of colours. The creamy white flowers are playfully marked with light purple stripes, splashes, and spots, giving them an almost candy-like appearance. A true eye-catcher that adds both romance and character to the garden.

The flowers are full, round, and large (5–10 cm) and usually appear in small clusters. The main bloom occurs in spring, after which the plant sometimes gives a second bloom in summer or autumn. The flowers also spread an intense, rich scent – just as you would expect from a classic Bourbon rose.

The shrub grows compact and elegant with a height of 120–150 cm and narrow, glossy leaves. This makes Variegata di Bologna suitable for borders, beds, or as a solitary plant, where its special flowers are the shining centrepiece.

At Belle Epoque you order the finest roses directly from the nursery. Each plant is carefully grown and delivered fresh, ensuring vitality and quality.

Add colour, scent, and historic charm to your garden with the unique 'Variegata di Bologna'!

Roses in pots

A potted rose is a rose plant that has already been grown in a pot and is delivered with a well-developed root system. These roses are ready to be planted directly in the garden or in a larger pot, without having to wait for root growth. This makes the potted rose ideal for planting throughout the year, especially from May through October.

Roses with bare roots

Bare-root roses – also called root roses – are rose plants delivered without a pot or soil. These roses are dormant and can be planted directly in open ground. The best time to plant a root rose is in autumn or early spring, when the soil is still moist and the temperature mild.

At Belle Epoque we supply bare-root roses from November through April. Thanks to the well-developed root system and the right planting conditions, these roses grow vigorously into healthy and bloom-rich bushes or climbing roses.

Products are shipped directly from the nursery every Monday and Wednesday. By delivering only twice a week, we reduce logistical emissions and optimise our processes. This benefits both the quality of our products and the climate.
